While Michael was at Soccer practice in Texas, Tyler was workin’ it on the playground. I’m sad that I didn’t get a picture of it, but he was playing tag with this little girl. That’s my boy, working it from an early age.
So somehow when we were in Texas Beka was talked into going to sing Karaoke with Becca (Randy’s wife). Those who know Beka know that this is quite a stretch for her. Of course after she went and did it, she liked it. Getting her to do new things is always the challenge. :)
This is another old post of when we were in Dallas. We went to the Dallas Zoo one of the days were were there. It reminded me of Hogle Zoo a bit. Although it was really nice because I think we were 8 of about 30 people in the whole Zoo. We went on like a Wednesday and it was “cold” for Texas. I think it was 60 that day. Their definition of cold is so very different than ours. Going to the Zoo reminded me of how old I’m getting though. I think we were there like 2 or 3 hours and I felt like I had just walked a marathon.
This is an old post but it never made it up on the website. We went to Disney on Ice on March 13th with our good friends that live across the street. Tyler’s favorite parts were Lion King and Peter Pan. Best part is that he has never seen Peter Pan. Likes himself some scurvy pirates.
Well today was the day. We had that all important ultra sound. We finally got to find out if it was a boy or a girl! It was an exciting moment. We have been talking over the last week about what we thought we are having. With Tyler, we both knew it was a boy. With this one we were just unsure. We had that deep down feeling it would be a boy just because history seems to repeat itself on the Gibbons side of the family. But we both truely didn’t know what this one would be. We of course were hoping for a girl to break things up a bit. Tyler has kind of been jumping around a bit, but lately has been asking for a baby sister.

For Tyler’s 3rd birthday we decided to go big, so we went to Backyard Adventures. It is a place that sells big backyard playgrounds, but someone down there is a genius because they put two rooms in the back with their playgrounds all hooked together. They rent out the rooms for birthdays and parties. We invited neighbors, friends, and family and had pizza, cake, ice cream, and lots of fun! The kids had fun climbing, sliding, jumping, and swinging. Tyler loved playing with his friends. He also loved opening presents! Grandpa even found him his Mickey Mouse Race Track that he has been talking about for a month. We really liked his Diego cake from Maceys.
So I was sitting here last night and was remembering how delicious crepes were. So I went searching for a good recipe. I did recall that the crepes I would eat as a child were so dang good, so I called the old man. He got me the recipe. But then I remembered how good blintzes were as well. So I went on a search for some good filling. Lucky for everyone reading this, I found a fantasic filling. So after reading this you are in the mood for crepes or blintzes, click HERE for a great recipe. And since I wanted to let your mind crave it, here is a picture of my breakfast.
We went to our 12 week Dr. visit today. This is the visit where we get to hear the heartbeat to make sure all of this sickness is worth it. There was a shocking development when we got there, the Dr. was behind… So after a 45 min wait we finally got into the room. The Dr. came in and he got right down to hearing the hearbeat. Problem was, he couldn’t find it. Now we are no professionals at this by any means, but this made us a little nervous. He didn’t seem too nervous, but he wanted to not let us leave all freaked out, so he told us he wanted to do an ultra sound. Of course theirs was broken so we had to walk over to the office next door to use their machine. After informing us the he hadn’t used the ultra sound machine in about 10 years, the Dr. put the gel on her tummy and the baby appeared on the screen. He said that the baby looked good and the hearbeat was thumping away. He was able to capture a picture of the baby’s face and printed it out for us. He handed it to me and said, “Here is the picture of your alien baby”. I tried to get him to say it was a girl, but he wouldn’t. 8 more weeks to find out.
