Jazz Game!

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

We went to the Jazz game on the day before Thanksgiving. This was Tyler’s first Jazz game. I got him a jersey last year, but I couldn’t get him to wear it. But he loves it now. We went with my dad and Trent and his son Garrett. Tyler ate all of grandpa’s popcorn. The boy can put down popcorn like nobodys business. Tyler also couldn’t help but beat me with his noise sticks. He can’t wait to go to the next game.

All Moved In!

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Well we got all moved over the weekend.  We got keys at 3:30pm at our final walk through and then we started moving the apt stuff on Thursday night.  My dad, Mykl, Leandro, and Nick all came over and helped us clear out the apt.  We were able to get all but a couple things moved over to the house that night.

Friday we both took off and spent the day unpacking and having things delivered.  We got the Washer and Dryer, entertainment center, and bedroom set all delivered and set up.  Mykl and I re-wired the mechanical room and installed the surround sound speakers.  We got the DirecTV and Qwest internet all set up as well.  Jechelle, our realtor came over and brought us lunch and then stayed to help Beka unpack.  We got almost everything unpacked and put in place before bringing in the storage unit stuff.

Saturday we met at the storage unit to complete the move.  Mykl, Trent, Dave, Dan, Jim, James, Leandro, Nick, Ray, Tommy, and Angela all showed up and we loaded up the truck in about an hour.  Drove it over to the house and had it unloaded in about 30 minutes.  We started putting together a few things and putting more stuff away.  I bought some storage racks and assembled them in the crawl space, and then moved a bunch of the baby clothes and boxes down to the racks.

Thank you to everyone that helped us out this weekend and throughout our several moves, we greatly appreciate it!  I will get some new pictures posted tonight of the final product with us all moved in.

Late Halloween Pic!

Here is a Halloween pic from my work party.  Me as a Pimp, Tyler as Spiderman, and Beka as a 50’s chick!  We all got into the spirit this year.

New Furniture!

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

So for about as long as I have known Beka she has wanted a canopy bed. She has asked and asked and we just have never purchased one. Yesterday we were out scouting out some new appliances and furniture and she found the bed she has always wanted. Mykl and Heidi told us to visit this furniture store in Lehi where the got some couches. We ended up getting a bedroom set instead of just the bed. We have never owned a bedroom set so I think it was about time. We bought a Queen head and footboard once but we only used that for a while before upgrading to a King mattress. So our plain old mattress now has a friend. The bedroom set included the canopy bed, the dresser w/mirror, and a nightstand. We got an additional nightstand so we could both have one.

First BYU Game of the Season!

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

BYU Game

Today was the first BYU game this season.  Tyler has been talking about going to the game for 2 weeks.  He just loves Football, which as a father I can’t help but be happy about that.  Lucky for me, as of right now he likes both the Cougars and the Bears.  BYU played a fairly easy opponent today, but struggled in the 3rd quarter.  Just some first game bobbles.  They ended up winning 41-17.  Next week the game is at Washington, so we will be heading to the cousins house to watch the game in his theater room.

Tyler Olives

After the game we went to the Olive Garden for dinner.  The waitress was nice enough to bring us a plate of Olives for Tyler.  As you can see he can’t just eat them, he must play with them first.  But that’s ok, because everybody used to do that as a kid.  It’s what you do with olives! :)

ALL MOVED OUT!!!

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Well today at 5:30pm we are officially homeless.  After 6 long years of living on Snow Springs Drive, it has come to an end.  We signed our papers yesterday and the loan processed today.  We finished moving out with the help of Mykl, and then cleaned the place up.  We think we left it looking pretty darn good.  So now the life of the apt.  We released our building contingency so they can submit the permits to build our house now.  We go tomorrow to finalize ALL of our upgrades to the house.  We have just a few.  Hopefully this house will be everything that we have ever wanted so we can stay there for a long time.  With the money from the other house we should be able to do just about anything we want with the new house.  Our last house was new but we didn’t get to pick anything but the carpet, because it was a spec home.  It was a great house.  We learned how to do a lot in that house.  Finished the basement (never do again),  put in a yard (never do myself), never live next to a mink farm again, never live so close to power lines, the list goes on.  It was a great first house and we are ready to move on.  You gotta take the good with the bad.  I will post pictures of our lot as soon as they start building.  Maybe I should take a pic of it before they dig it up.  Keep ya posted.

Be sure to watch!

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

So my dad and I have been doing that KSL golf champions challenge every Tuesday night for the last 3 months or so, and we have been doing fairly decent.  Back on June 14th I lucked out and won the event.  So this qualifies me to play in the Championship on this coming Tuesday.  My dad unfortunately never qualified.  He took 2nd twice and 3rd twice.  Missing first both times by less than a foot :( .  But I can’t complain cuz he always shares his winnings with me, so I have some new golf balls and putter to show for his efforts.  Anyway, the Championship will be airing this coming Saturday (August 2nd) night at 11pm on KSL channel 5.  Tune in to see if I won.  Ok, I’m sure if I do win, I don’t think I will be able to contain myself and will have to write about it sooner.

97 lbs. and counting!

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

So it has been 11 months and I have dropped a whopping 97 lbs. now.  I am trying so hard to hit that century mark, but the last 10 lbs has been going so very slow.  My body just doesn’t want to lose anymore.  I can honestly say, I do not recall ever weighing this little.  As we were packing the other day, I found my letterman’s jacket from high school.  Now Beka and I have discussed on several occations if I weighed this much in High School.  She swears that I was smaller in high school.  But of course I disagree, and tell her that I can not recall the last time I weighed this little.  So I put on the jacket…needless to say, I could overlap the front of the jacket.  I’m going to go with this being the smallest I have been in a VERY LONG TIME.
